At one time, when FreeVirtualServers was founded in 2001, it was one of the few UK companies providing free web hosting. Since then, there UK web hosting market has grown much larger, but FreeVirtualServers is still one of the most popular web hosting providers in the UK. Aside from the Great Britain, FreeVirtualServers.com is also popular in India, with much lower indicators in the United States, Germany and Indonesia.

At first, it seems that FreeVirtualServers.com is cheap even in comparison with its American counterparts, with the Lie package available for £20.00 per year (about $31 annually or $2,56 per month). It seems like a great bargain, but not until you find out that this package includes only 500MB web space and 1GB bandwidth per month.

They do have a package with unlimited disk space and bandwidth, but it is a bit more expensive – £4.99 ($7,69) per month. As usual, you can create an unlimited number of e-mail accounts, subdomains, mailing lists and FTP accounts. If you apply for the Pro package, you will also get a £30 Google AdWords Voucher.

FreeVirtualServers.com offers an easy-to-use cPanel which is preferred by most website owners and offered by the majority of web hosting providers.

If you are having some issues, you can create a ticket and contact FreeVirtualServers’ technical support. The company promises to get back to you within 24 hours, though it is a pity that they do not have a live chat. You also have the option of contacting FreeVirtualServers.com by phone (which is not so handy for non-UK clients).

Uptime

Statistically speaking, FreeVirtualServers.com has an overall uptime of 99.99% for their corporate website (as monitored since 12 October 2006).

If you are based in the UK and would like to use a web hosting provider which is geographically close to you, FreeVirtualServers.com might be a good choice.
