It's almost like ideas are visiting few people simultaneously and whoever executes them gets rich lol :D the what you expressed as a problem "magnetic waves don’t travels in straight lines as light does" is not a problem :) The problem is in isolating one charge from another and not have the discharge why you do it. Secondly it's not gonna be magnetic but electromagnetic laser and it's gonna eat a lot of energy and will be quite expensive..
